Generative UI: ask in plain English, get a working dashboard

Live demo · sample data from X2 Hub

Every company with data has a queue of dashboard requests. Someone has a question, a ticket goes to design or engineering, and the answer arrives weeks later, when the question has already changed.

Jarvis is the generative UI we built for X2 Hub, our HR platform. You type a question in plain English and get a working widget, filled with live data. The demo above replays real Jarvis output with sample data.

#How it works

  • Ask the way you think. “Bench rate by technology.” No SQL, no filters, no ticket.
  • The right widget appears. Jarvis picks from a fixed set of widgets (tables, charts, kanban boards, calendars) and fills it with data from the platform.
  • Refine it. Ask a follow-up (“Who’s on the bench in Design?”) and stack widgets into a dashboard.

#What we learned

Drawing the chart is the easy part. The hard part is choosing the right widget and the right data for a vague question.

A fixed set of widgets, designed and built once, keeps every answer consistent and on-brand. The model’s job shrinks to picking a widget and filling it, which is a job it does well.

#What it means for your product

Anywhere you have structured data and people asking questions about it. A SaaS product can let each customer build their own reporting instead of requesting features. Operations teams get live views of inventory and fulfilment. Compliance officers get audit-ready views of transactions and risk flags, without waiting for a report.
